Newfoundland is an isolated Canadian province that is closer to Greenland than it is to the rest of Canada. Despertá are a fairly new band featuring members from Guayaquil (Ecuador), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Montreal and St John’s (Canada).

Hardcore punk with a slight post punk influence sounding like something that could have come out of NYC or Spain ten years ago. Driving riffs and beats with high pitched vocals in Spanish exploring festering feelings of frustration (alienation), grief and self inquiry.
